AUDI PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS FOR INTEGRATED ENGINEERING
Project Overview
REVERSE ENGINEERING, 3D SCANNING, SURFACE MODELING
Scope

Cars are great, but no matter what car you buy, there is an opportunity to improve it or customize it in some way. Therein lies the opportunity to develop aftermarket components for Audi platforms that combine performance aesthetics with measurable performance gains. The product collection required solutions that maximize airflow, increase horsepower, and amplify engine sounds while adhering to the established Integrated Engineering design language.
I started the design process by removing parts and 3D scanning them, then developed replacements with input from engineering to optimize airflow. Through rapid prototyping, I tested fit and tuned sound using decibel readers in real-world scenarios.

The collection of parts I developed for Audi platforms resulted in horsepower gains but, more importantly, experiential gains. The sounds the intakes and exhaust produce separate the user from the rest of traffic and signal to others that they're a performance car enthusiast.
